2024 AUTUMN SHOWCASE

The 29th Season of the Berlin & Beyond Film Festival, presented by the Goethe-Institut San Francisco, will kick off with a one-night-only showcase of captivating recent German cinema at the Roxie Theater in San Francisco’s Mission District. “The Glory of Life,” directed by Georg Maas and Judith Kaufmann, is the love story of Franz Kafka and Dora Diamant, played by Sabin Tambrea and Henriette Confurius, respectively. 2024 commemorates 100 years since the passing of the literary great. In “Two to One,” directed by Natja Brunckhorst, features a star-studded ensemble of Sandra Hüller, Max Riemelt, Ronald Zehrfeld, and Peter Kurt, as a group of clever East Germans who seizes on the chaotic post-GDR era to retrieve hidden millions from an underground vault. In the Student Academy Award-winning “Crust” by Jens Kevin Georg, 12-year-old Fabi has to prove himself to the family by getting his first scar.
